Music Instruction from Professional Musicians at a Reasonable Cost in Convenient Locations
Ongoing Registration
Since the 1970’s, the RiverArts Music Program has paired students interested in private music instruction with instructors who are among the metropolitan area's finest musicians at convenient locations and times and at an affordable price. Lessons are taught Mondays through Fridays, after school hours, at the Hastings-on-Hudson and Dobbs Ferry public schools.
Our roster includes a faculty of 30 professional musicians and serves more than 200 children each year. Lessons are offered in most instruments including strings, winds, brass, percussion, guitar, piano, harp, and voice. There are performance opportunities at various times throughout the year.
The year is divided into three sessions, Fall, Spring, and Summer. The Fall and Spring sessions consist of 15 weeks of lessons each, with several makeup weeks scheduled at the end of each. The Summer session is shorter, and the number of weeks vary depending upon space availability. During the school year classes are held on all days that school is in session, including half-days, and also on Superintendent's Conference Days. On all other days when school is closed, including snow days, no music lessons are given.
Private lesson fees per 15-week session:
30 min - $495 (or three monthly installments of $167; total $501)
45 min - $717 (or three monthly installments of $241; total $723)
60 min - $942 (or three monthly installments of $316; total $948)
